In the monumental Hansahuis, inaugurated in 1903, one of the most important anchor points of the Scheldt Seas, you will find this spacious space, currently as an office but also to transform into an exceptional apartment.
The impressive building complex on the head of the building block formed by Ernest Van Dijckkaai, Suikerrui and Kaasstraat, was built on behalf of Wilhelm Arnold von Mallinckrodt, after the hand of architect Joseph Hertogs. Duchess is one of the most successful architects in Antwerp. His career served the wealthy, predominantly liberal bourgeoisie. The Hansahuis had to testify to the flourishing trading position of the Antwerp metropolis in the early 20th century. The corner towers, risalites, colossal pilasters and columns, galleries and sculptures of Jef Lambeaux, are entirely in line with the then prevailing welfare mentality and profanity. In 1981 the building was protected as a monument.
