General On the sixth and seventh floor, at the top of the building, is this duplex-penthouse of approximately 211 m2. It feels more like a house in the sky than an apartment. Downstairs it is quiet, with three bedrooms, a separate dressing, a bathroom and many fitted wardrobes. Upstairs lies one large, bright living room with white painted beams, an industrial kitchen, a fourth bedroom, a second bathroom and two terraces of about 70 m2. A wrought iron spiral staircase connects the two floors. Technically, too: the roof of the building was renovated, the boiler has been recently renewed and the apartment has an EPC label C. There is an elevator, and the apartment has two cellars. Location The penthouse is located at the beginning of the Turnhoutsebaan, at the intersection with the Carnotstraat and the Kerkstraat. The Central Station, Astridplein and Zoo are a few minutes' walk away. Shops, bakers, coffee bars and restaurants can be found in all directions, and tram and bus stop nearby. You live here in the heart of the city, but from the top floor you hardly hear the hustle and bustle and you mainly see roofs, church towers and lots of air. Layout Sixth floor: the night floor You enter a spacious entrance hall with a marble floor and a whole wall-inlaid wardrobes, so coats, shoes and bags are immediately out of sight. From the hallway you reach all the spaces on this floor. On this floor are three bedrooms. The largest is a really spacious room with a large window and a door to the balcony, from where you look over the rooftops and the greenery of the neighborhood. The second bedroom is now furnished as a desk. A large window provides plenty of daylight and the white-painted brick wall gives the room character. The third bedroom is equally quiet and spacious, and each room has its own closet space. There is also a separate dressing with its own window, which overlooks the church tower. That way you have clothes and shoes neatly from the bedrooms. On the entire floor, except in the entrance hall, is oak mosaic parquet. The short strips are per four in squares, each one a quarter turn like a damboard. It is a classic that is nicely weathered and gives the rooms warm immediately. The bathroom on this floor is sober and tight. The shower has large anthracite tiles, a rain shower with hand shower and a glass sliding door. The separate toilet is next to it. The spiral staircase From the entrance hall you walk up a wrought iron spiral staircase. If you look up, you will see a round staircase with a graceful balustrade full of curls and above it the white beams of the living room. It's one of those details you don't see anywhere else. Seventh floor: the floor of life Upstairs you come to the heart of the house: one large living space over 12 metres long. The ceiling has white-painted wooden beams and on several sides there are windows, allowing light to enter from morning to evening. The round staircase is in the middle of space and divides them into zones without needing walls. On one side there is room for a large sitting area, with a white niche in the wall and a piece of white painted brick that makes it a cozy corner. On the other side stands the dining table in front of a large window with wooden sliding windows, which directly open onto the terrace. The kitchen is industrially furnished: white metro tiles up to the ceiling, a tough professional stove with large oven, a stainless steel hood with visible drain tube, open racks in steel and wood and a magnetic strip for the knives. The double sink is under a wide window, so you look over the city at the dishes. It is a kitchen for people who like to cook a lot. Then the terraces. The southwest terrace of approx. 40 m2 gets the sun in the afternoon and evening. The northeast terrace of approx. 30 m2 is ideal for breakfast in the morning sun or as a cool place on hot summer days. On the terrace are terrace tiles and around is a white painted brick guardrail. The view extends over the rooftops to the skyline of Antwerp. On this floor is also the fourth bedroom, a quiet room with decorative frames on the ceiling. The second bathroom is a real eyecatcher. The walls are lined with handmade shiny tiles in soft grey-blue tones, and there is a bathtub, a walk-in shower with rain shower, a long wide sink with a large mirror cabinet and a towel radiator. Through the window, daylight invades. There is also a separate toilet and a storage room that is equipped as a laundry. The entire upper floor has a bamboo floor with the typical knots in the wood, which has a different character than the parquet below. In the living room, the floor convectors are hidden under wooden slatted grates, so that there are no radiators against the walls.
