Fort Lillo, a surprisingly green oasis, rich in history, on the judge Scheldt bank, in the middle of the port of Antwerp. Via the Scheldelaan, highway or . . . nice relaxed . . with the Waterbus you quickly get to the city. This former military fortress, twin fort Lillo on the other side of the Scheldt, was built between 1579 and 1582. Polderdorp Lillo was added to the city in the 1960s, together with Berendrecht and Zandvliet. The map of Lillo-Fort, with its bastions, strongholds and vests, remained almost unchanged after all these centuries. Today this is a very quiet, small place to live. The fort is protected as a monument and also the ferry, tidal harbour and this fully accessible, energy efficient house with two living volumes are protected as a cityscape.
Ground floor with entrance hall and first living space on parquet floor heating and wood stove. In the luxurious kitchen the floor of French farm tiles, cupboards in fumigated larch veneer and worktop in Italian pink porfier steal the show. With the door between kitchen and patio you can close both accommodation units.
On+1 again a beautiful living room with parquet and wood stove, classic Heritage bathroom (bath, shower, double sink, toilet). On +2 you will find the master bedroom and second room (office, dressing ...). A luminous space with guest toilet and impressive street of light connects this living volume to the two unit in the original, historic house, ideal as a guest house or stand-alone living unit. This lockable studio has a kitchen with fitted wardrobe for washing machine(s), freezer and refrigerator (no cooking fire). Also here, living room, mezzanine bedroom and bathroom with walk-in rain shower got that same stylish, architecturally high-quality finish. Technical space. Basement. EPC B.
Good to know: In the context of the Sigmaplan, the Scheldedijken will be widened and raised in the future and there will be a modern non-tidal harbour.
