Exceptional architect's house – Albert Bontridder (1958)
A remarkable work by architect Albert Bontridder, this house, erected in 1958 and later extended by the architect himself, is a piece of modernist architecture, inhabited by poetry.
Developing approx. 290 m2 gross on a plot of 557 m2, it was completely renovated in 2022, scrupulously respecting the original project while integrating the current standards of comfort: new boiler, efficient insulation, floor heating, new chassis, compliant electricity, fitted wardrobes and worktops, polished concrete floors and wooden flooring, VIPP kitchen.
The house is organized in three volumes, between which light circulates with fluidity:
The children's volume, street side, opens to urban life and includes two bedrooms and a full bathroom. The central volume welcomes the living rooms: large custom kitchen, dining room with open fire and patio with shower, creating a soothing continuity between interior and exterior. The back volume, turned towards the garden, is dedicated to parents: living room with second open fire and direct access to the garden, large adjoining office, then upstairs a master suite with terrace, bathroom and dressing room. The office and living area makes it easy to arrange two additional rooms, as well as the use of them for a liberal profession. Rare house, both art work and contemporary place of life, where the poetry of modernist architecture dialogues with current comfort. Furniture is not part of the sale. BEP D.
